Vital FSM Petroleum Corporation (Vital FSMPC) provides the following 24-hour progress update on service restoration and operational recovery in Chuuk following the impact of Typhoon Sinlaku.

Full Recovery – Assets Ready for Normal Operations

  • MV Seawatch is mission-ready to support restoration and recovery operations in Chuuk.
  • MV Vital Carrier is currently on a chartered voyage.

Partial Recovery – Aviation, Power Generation and Service Status

  • Aviation Refueling – Resuming with Limitations
  • The aviation refueling system has been operational since 16 April 2026.
  • Limitations on uplift quantities remain in place.
  • Available product has been prioritized for scheduled United Airlines flights.
  • Full restoration of aviation refueling is expected once fuel can be safely transferred from the terminal to the aviation depot.
  • Power Generation Status
  • The Tonoas Power Plant (TPP) has been inspected and is ready to generate power.
  • Power generation will commence once the Chuuk Public Utility Corporation (CPUC) completes its safety inspections and confirms the integrity of the distribution network.
  • Service Status

The following services are now available, subject to ongoing safety and access assessments:

  • Retail deliveries to service stations
  • Diesel deliveries to CPUC

Customers are requested to confirm orders by contacting the Key Accounts Manager (KAM) via +691 921 1326 to enable delivery scheduling.

Service Notes (for this weekend’s operations)

  • The After-Hours Service Fee (AHSF) will not be charged today, Saturday 18 April 2026.
  • No deliveries will be conducted tomorrow, Sunday 19 April 2026, to allow our team a well-deserved rest following safe discharge operations and retail deliveries.
  • Operations will resume on Monday, 20 April 2026, as we continue with our recovery plans and restoration of services.


The following services currently remain unavailable:

  • Drum Filling
  • Marine bunkering

 

Prioritization of Supply

During this restoration phase, the available fuel supplies will continue to be prioritized to support:

  • Emergency and response services
  • Power generation and utilities
  • Critical infrastructure and essential community needs
